WWN is a networking group for professional women writers.

Most of us are freelance, some are salaried, and we represent a wide range of writing interests. We are not a writers' circle but a group formed to help women further their professional development.

Many members are established in their careers with a wealth of experience to share; others are just beginning.

How we started

WWN was founded in 1985 by five freelance writers who missed regular contact with other professionals. They had a vision of mutual support among women who write for a living.

We've grown considerably since then, but we still see ourselves as a friendly, lively professional group whose members include journalists, fiction and non-fiction writers, copywriters, poets, dramatists, editors and publishers.
